ROLEPLAY EXAMPLE[/color] “I need a drink,” Julianna said with as much energy as she could muster nowadays. She had not expected her job to take such a toll on her emotionally. The idea she could provide for herself seemed rewarding enough at first but as the days turned to weeks, she realized just how much of herself she was giving up for this job. While most women would not even considering becoming a prostitute when she could be living in a mansion in one of the finest cities the Caribbean had to offer, Julie had chosen it and continued to work day after day. There was something moving about being able to earn money. Though few women she came in contact with knew of this rush of pride. The only jobs readily available out in the world were for cooks, seamstresses, and teachers, none of which made much money nor was Julianna qualified to apply for.
She gave a nod to one of the women who stood next to Faithful Bride with her. The redhead would surely not be disappointed if Julianna didn’t come back from her drink. It wasn’t as if Julie was better at the job but she was fresh meat. The men in Tortuga were not accustomed to a woman who spoke so elegantly nor who looked like they were ‘familiar’ with this line of work. Little did they know, Julie’s naivety towards her occupation was not going to provide them with a cheaper experience. If she was going to do this for a living, she was going to charge heavily. In some morbid way, this made Julie not feel as guilty about her career path. Though she was certain this was not her father’s dream for his daughter either.
As she walked into the tavern, pulling her dress up in a feeble attempt to keep the mud from forming on the bottom, Julie cringed as she heard the whistles begin. At least she would never worry about going hungry. A man was always willing to buy a woman a drink or a meal…of course this meant she wouldn’t be getting paid later on but it didn’t matter. Food kept her alive, money kept her sane.
“Ye got thee sweetest eyes,” one drunken sailor slurred as he stared down at Julianna’s chest, giving no real look as if he would stop anytime soon. With a silly grin on his face, he licked his lips, making the woman groan in disgust.
“I never was aware how short I was, if you are gazing at my eyes,” her harsh attitude shining through. The beauty of this job was, she didn’t have to pretend to be happy all the time like she did in Port Royal. Men were going to want her even if she was in a bad mood. They didn’t come to her for conversation. They came to her because they had recently spent months on a ship with only blokes. When she walked passed the pirate, feeling her bottom getting a grab, she sat down at the counter where a woman waitressed. “Rum,” her voice already showing how tired she was even though the night was just beginning.
