. x | [ S O R A ] | x . LAYING MY HEAD ON NEEDLE LIKE WORRIES, I PRETEND TO SLEEP THOUGH I CAN'T . . feels like insomnia . . The wind blowing through his hair. That was probably one of the single most relaxing things to Sora Ichihara. Well, there were a few other things he could think of but right now, the breeze as it blew through the board walk just took the cake. It was truly a beautiful night. Most of the time, Sora really liked to spend too much time paying attention to mundane things such as how nice the stars looked shining in the night sky. And now, the dark haired boy couldn't help but notice as the sun sunk low among the horizon of the water that this place was absolutely stunning.
He was leaning against the railing of the boardwalk, both elbows propped onto the dark wood. A small smile crept upon his lips as he suddenly realized that he could see a few birds flying low to the sparkling water not too far off in the distance. This was the life. A soft sigh escaped into the summer night air and Sora tilted his head, dark brown locks falling over his piercing blue eyes. Paradise. Well, not quite. Destiny Islands was paradise, but this came very close.
Sora shifted his weight after a few moments, allowing his gaze to shift across the horizon. He began to day dream. An intricately detailed, extremely vivid day dream of his former home. He missed Destiny Islands with a passion that couldn't be extinguished with even the most powerful magic. Those swaying palm trees, the large tree house that he and his friends had built. Destiny Islands was a place unlike any other.
Now. Now Hollow Bastion was his home. For five years now he and his family lived here. Sora didn't even know what happened to all of his friends, and even though he had to admit that this bothered him somewhat, he was optimistic that they were all okay somewhere. The one person he'd been most concerned about was his brother, Roxas. As long as Sora had his brother with him, he knew that things would be just fine.
He allowed his thoughts to drift now, eyes staring forward almost unseeingly. Where was Roxas any how? What was he off doing? If he was eating something tasty, he better be thinking about bringing something for Sora! It never even occurred to the brunette that Roxas might not even know where he was. This was a triviality, really.
Suddenly, Sora's stomach growled. The Gods demanded a sacrifice. A sacrifice of ice cream.

How many years has it been since everyone came to Hollow Bastion? Roxas Ichihara let out a soft sigh and brought a stick of sea salt ice cream to his face, his small pink tongue reached out and lapped up the familiar and comforting taste. It had to have been at least a good five years since he and his family had been forced to leave Destiny Islands and the teenager more than often yearned to return home. Why he even wanted to go to a place that no longer existed was beyond him. It was probably for that sentimental value, well something like that at least. None of that should matter though because in all honesty, home is where the heart is and for the sixteen year old his heart would always be with Sora.
He walked quietly along the boardwalk, the breeze gently ruffling his unbuttoned shirt, revealing his tanned skin to the setting sun. The teen had spent his entire day in flip flops and shorts, but now that the sun was setting the air was becoming just a tad colder. It was enough to force Roxy home and get him to put on some form of a top layer. Now that he was out prowling the city again, he found himself in desperate need of entertainment. Where was his brother? Surely the elder twin would have something interesting to do, but that meant finding him and that meant work.
“Ugh, this is stupid!” His originally placid and content mood had quickly been replaced by one of irritancy. Why on Earth was it so difficult to find his brother? They needed to come up with some sort of personal communication; it would make life so much easier. He shook his head again, taking the time to brush away the messy blond hair that fell in front of his face. Roxas licked his ice cream again, getting worried that it would melt before he had a chance to finish the whole thing. The young man continued down the boardwalk, his brown eyes lit up with a sense of excitement as he finally spotted Sora. That angelic frame was leaning against the railing overlooking the water below. Ah, such beauty. Roxas almost didn’t want to bother his brother, almost.
He smiled to himself and settled in beside his older brother, “Hey Sor, did ya miss me?” He offered the brown haired male a cute smile, licking on his ice cream in front of the other boy.

. x | [ S O R A ] | x . LAYING MY HEAD ON NEEDLE LIKE WORRIES, I PRETEND TO SLEEP THOUGH I CAN'T . . feels like insomnia . . It was so coincidental that Sora couldn't help but grin like an overgrown child. What were the odds of Roxas showing up mere minutes after Sora wondered where he was? On top of that, what were the odds of Roxas being accompanied by a stick of delicious sea salt ice cream when Sora's tummy was rumbling for just that? His light blue eyes shifted, landing upon Roxas as that grin continued to cling to his lips. "Of course I did. I was actually just thinking about you!"
A small chuckle escaped from the back of his throat as his eyes closed for a moment in happiness. Sora's stomach grumbled, quite audibly, and he suddenly had the urge to reach out and snatch that treat from his brothers hand. He opened his eyes once more, shifting his weight against the railing. Instantly, his eyes caught onto the ice cream. Sora just couldn't help it. He reached out, taking the ice cream gently from Roxas.
"And I wanted ice cream.." He grinned mischievously, his tongue darting forward to lick the treat as if he were committing something seriously taboo. "So in a way, I guess you would say that you are my savior, Roxas." Sora licked the ice cream a few more times. He knew that Roxas would more than likely be wanting it back, so Sora figured that he would make the best of it and take while he could.
But that didn't mean he was going to hand it over. No, Sora was going to wait until Roxas actually showed signs of wanting it back. So he continued to lick in between words. "I'm really bored, Roxy.." It was a not-so-subtle hint for his brother to come up something interesting for them to do. Big blue eyes simply stared at Roxas expectantly. [/blockquote]

Oh god, that wasn’t creepy at all now, was it? After all, people had always said that twins had some sort of mental connection with each other. Sora had been thinking about Roxas and then the teenager had just appeared out of nowhere! Roxas rolled his brown eyes a little and snorted at the idea. This just had to have been some stupid bit of luck, even the bit about the older twin wanting ice cream. Still, those words were enough to curl the teenager’s lips into a small smile. “Well don’t I feel lucky, someone’s been thinking about me.” He thought it was actually pretty cute, then again Sora could have been just simply trying to amuse the young man.
Chocolate colored eyes gazed at the brunette, his look shifting downwards as he heard a rumble from his twin and chuckled softly. “Hungry much? He gave off a bit of a cheerful demeanor and went back to happily sucking on his ice cream. His free arm settled against the railing, propping the boy up so Roxas could watch his twin quietly. God… he looked so cute like this, like those sunsets back home when they would sit on the beach. The teenager only allowed himself to stare because Sora wasn’t looking, his eyes had been closed, but as soon as he looked over the sixteen year old was forced to avert his own gaze. His cheeks flushed a bright red, more embarrassed by the fact that he had been staring than anything else.
Raising the ice cream back to his lips, he opened his small mouth and let his tongue reach out only to find that the ice cream wasn’t there. Letting his head snap up, Roxas stared at Sora as the older twin had pulled the light blue Popsicle away from him. His mouth opened up in protest, but no words had come out. Flustered, the teen closed his mouth and tried again. “That’s not cool, Sora! Mom gave that to me for cleaning my half of the room!” He struggled to hide the whining tone from his voice and stared at his older brother accusingly.
Even though Roxas seemed upset, he couldn’t help but to watch his brother curiously as he licked the delicious treat. Augh, he was gonna get it back somehow. “Jeez, have you done everything already? What about going swimming?” He shook his head and placed one hand on his hip and stared back at Sora, trying to mimic his brother’s look. “It’d be fun, we could go skinny dipping or something.” Roxas continued with a small shrug.

. x | [ S O R A ] | x . LAYING MY HEAD ON NEEDLE LIKE WORRIES, I PRETEND TO SLEEP THOUGH I CAN'T . . feels like insomnia . . Sora grinned as he watched his brother. Usually if Roxas smiled, it made Sora smile as well. "You should feel lucky! Cause it's not just any old someone who was thinking about you.. it me! Your big brother! The great and completely awesome Sora!" The teenager was full of it, but his grin quickly twisted into something that was a mixture of egotism and playfulness.
Thankfully for Roxas, Sora was completely oblivious to the fact that his brother had been staring at him while he had his eyes closed. He blinked his dark brown eyes, looking over the water as he slowly licked the stolen ice cream. It was weird, but it seemed that sea salt ice cream tasted even better when it was stolen from his twin brother. "Quit whining, Roxy. She'll give you another ice cream when you clean your room tomorrow.. She always does. You're mama's little boy!" Sora felt rather victorious for a moment, even though he knew that in reality it was completely unmerited. There was nothing to be proud of thievery, even if this was considered fairly innocent. "I'm always hungry. You know this. I eat enough for the both of us. I'm surprised mom hasn't started having to buy double at the grocery store yet."
Sora allowed his gaze to quickly dart back to his twin, catching the upset look that was clinging to Roxas' face. For a moment, Sora felt a twinge of remorse. He sighed deeply, contemplating the pros and cons of returning Roxas' ice cream to him. Pros: Roxas would smile again, perhaps they'd play around a little bit. Cons: He wouldn't have the ice cream anymore, and he'd have to listen to Roxas whine.. or watch him pout. In the end, Sora decided to return the ice cream, even though there were only a few licks left at best.
"Skinny dipping?" A soft blush instantly clung to his cheeks before he even realized what was happening. How was he supposed to skinny dip out here.. with his brother? "Uhh, sure. We could do that.." He was digging himself a hole, wasn't he? [/blockquote]

Great and completely awesome… those words caused the blond haired teenager to snort and he was forced to cover his mouth before real laughter began to slip out. He had to watch Sora carefully, trying hard to figure out if his older brother was being serious or not. Thankfully the sixteen year old could sense the playfulness in his voice and let his brain turn out a semi-witty comment for his twin. “If you’re so awesome why wasn’t I thinking about you, hmm?” Okay, so it wasn’t the best comeback ever, but at least he was trying! Roxas removed the hand from his mouth only to reveal a playful smile on his lips.
“And don’t even give me that! I’m not mama’s little boy, she just likes… giving me ice cream.” That hadn’t been fair at all, especially because Roxas had worked so bloody hard just to get the frozen treat. Sora was right though, their mother did feed the younger twin ice cream almost every day. It had been his most favorite treat since he was little and sometimes the sixteen year old couldn’t help but wonder if there were drugs in the ice cream because he felt like he was addicted to them. “For all you know Sora, mom’s been buying double and you’ve just been wolfing it down. We’ll be broke at this rate!” He chuckled at the thought. Oh gosh, Sora could eat them out of house and home and not know any better.
Though, his good mood didn’t last for very long. He wanted that damn ice cream back and Sora had eaten almost all of it. That stupid pout of his continued to cling to the teenager’s lips, maybe it would be enough to get the sea salt treat back from his twin. Looking away for a moment, the blond teenager sighed. What was he going to do if he didn’t get the ice cream back? There was going to be hell to pay that was for sure. Sora’s ass would be on the line, but the elder twin saved himself. Roxas had turned back to look at his brother and smiled as the last bits of his ice cream was returned to him. Licking on the last little bit happily, he smiled just a bit. After all, the sixteen year old no longer had a reason to pout.
“Yeah, skinny dipping! We can go down to the lake for a swim, it’d be fun.” He grinned as he realized that he was making the brunette blush. Honestly, they only had to walk for a bit. The lake wasn’t very far from here and Roxas could do with a swim, he could imagine that pristine water washing over his body. Oh yeah, that’d be really nice.
