Malinda yawned, not even bothering to cover her mouth with the back of her hand as she stretched out. Her arms moved above her head, a soft groan escaping from her lips. It felt good to stretch, but not even that simple pleasure could take her mind off of this girl's boring speech that Malinda was forced to sit through. A soft 'pftt' sound came from her lips as she watched the girl. She thought this was supposed to be a theatre group meeting.. not a lecture fest.
Normally Malinda liked to meet with the theatre group in the middle of the Chapel Park, but not today.
Malinda knew that she could do much better. What was with people these days and not putting everything they had into something? This girl was going to put Malinda to sleep. She narrowed her eyebrows, wishing the girl would choke up and just get the hell off of the small outdoor stage already. Thankfully, it seemed like Malinda's prayers were answered. As the girl got off the stage and everyone went to leave, Malinda rose from her seat. She straightened out her skirt with her slender fingers, looking up towards the girl that was supposed to be her rival.
It was time to drive the nail into the coffin. Slowly, Malinda made her way over towards the girl, who was being congratulated by a circle of people for the "great speech" that she'd just given. Resisting the urge to roll her eyes, Malinda gave a fake smile as she pushed her way into the crowd. "Congratulations, Sarah." Malinda paused, and it was obvious she had given off the impression that she was going to compliment the girl. "I must say that was really something. It was absolutely... dreadful." Malinda flashed a small smirk, reaching up to pat the girl patronizingly on the arm. She knew that everyone would be talking about her now, but she didn't care.
Slowly, Malinda excused herself from the crowd and walked away from all of them. She ran her hand through her pitch black hair, a small smirk plastered upon her lips. It was obvious that Malinda was pleased with herself, even though what she'd just done was baby play at best. Any insult, no matter how small, still always made her feel good and accomplished.
The teenage girl made her way as far away from the theatre group as possible, coming up to the other side of the large fountain was in the center of the park. She paused to look up at the huge stained glass windows of the chapel that would be seen in the distance, slowly placing herself down on the lip of the fountain.

Kovu had been sitting on a park bench, just enjoying the nice outdoor air. He could see just over the hill where there was some meeting going on. Kovu didn't really care much, he just liked being outside. He was sitting the opposite of the large chapel, the stained glass windows with light shining through them made Kovu feel a little bad. He felt that he wasn't worthy of sitting in the shadow of something so holy and beautiful. He had plotted to destroy people, good, kind people. That was a sin, an uncalled for sin.
He tilted his head back, leaning it on the back of the bench with his eyes shut. He was too lazy to get up and pick a different bench to sit upon, so he just didn't want to look at it anymore. It was nice in the park, one of Kovu's favorite places. A place he cold go, just to simply be. He could listen to families having fun together, couples in love, children laughing, a mom loving all her children the same.
This panged in Kovu's heart. Was it his fault that his siblings didn't get the attention they needed? That Shetani turned into a mini clone of mom, or Nuka into a psycho? Was it his fault? He loved his family deeply, and it hurt him when he left them because he didn't want to follow through with the plan. He had had no contact with his mother and brother, and barely any with Shetani. It hurt so much, to be alone in this new world, without his family, barely any friends. But Kovu never showed it, his emotions made him weak, allowed people to get close to him and then rip themselves away to leave a bleeding, gaping hole. As long as he his the more sentimental of his emotions, he wouldn't be hurt like he had been.
Kovu sighed and sat back up, dark green eyes flashing back to the chapel. Then, Kovu blinked in surprise. Someone was here, a female. A very pretty, very agitated girl pacing up and down the front of a nearby fountain. The fountain was maybe thirty yards away, and the girl made Kovu curious. He got up and leisurely made his way over to the fountain, and lazily leaned against a tree, watching the girl like a lion stalked prey. "Worried about something sweetheart?" he asked. He was smirking. He was his mother's pet right now, his former self that his mother trained him to be to take down Simba's family. It was his defense, his wall, his strength.
