ROLEPLAY EXAMPLE[/color] Stepping out of his house, Chase closed the door, sliding in the key and locking the door. There was really no reason for him to lock his door. It wasn't like his home was in the human world where stupid people broke in and stole your shit. No, this was the spirit world. Nothing like that ever happened here. No, it wasn't that normal. The shinigami had to deal with infiltrating demons, not petty thieves. Locking his door was just a habit that he didn't get rid of after he died seven years ago.
Putting his hand on the hilt if his sword, Chase turned and looked at the night sky. The moon shone full force, but still only a pale glow was cast over the dark lands. The shinigami had gotten used to the darkness of the Yang lands since he arrived. At first it was depressing, but now it was just normal. Since Chase was going to be spending the rest of his immortal life living here, he had to get used to it. Walking down a path, the death god's shoes crunched on the gravel.
Ever since Chase had gotten back from his training, he had found that he was going for a lot of random walks. Other then fighting the attacking demons occasionally, this place was still as boring as ever. Letting out a small sigh, Chase noticed that his feet had carried him to the gate that transported Shinigami to the real world. Shrugging, he stepped through, his spirit entering its solid body.
Landing on the ground in Osaka, Chase rolled his shoulders, adjusting to the feeling of the artificial body. These things were fairly curious. They allowed shinigami to move among the humans and also to be seen by humans, but they restricted the shinigami's powers considerably. Their strength, speed and spirit energy output was decreased. Also, with once a shinigami enters the human world, their powers are automatically capped, even if they are not in an artificial body. This was a caution that was used by the spirit world to make sure that the shinigami didn't use their powers to influence the humans. But even though the body was artificial, the senses were all the same. When you got stabbed, it still fucking hurt.
Reaching into his pocket, the Shinigami pulled out a pack of smokes and a lighter. Putting the smoke between his lips, he lit it, taking a drag. Another habit that he couldn't kick from his living years. Putting the pack and the lighter back in his pocket, he began walking down the sidewalk, walking slowly, enjoying his cigarette. After a few moments of walking, Chase decided that he needed to choose a destination for his visit to the human world. Thinking for a moment, he threw away the butt of the finished smoke and blew out the remainder of smoke out of his lungs, the cloud of smoke rising into the moon lit sky.
Turning around, Chase made his way towards the zoo. Maybe he would run into some demons there. He had heard that some of the animals were dying without explanation. The shinigami had his suspicions, one of them that was that the demons didn't only feed on the human soul, but just on should in general. Hopefully he could corner a demon and question him to gather some information. Any type of info would put them a step ahead of the demons, who had yet to show any form of organized battle tactics.
A few moments later, the young shinigami found himself standing in front of the gates of the Zoo. Smirking, Chase disappeared from the spot he was standing. To the human eye, it would have looked like he just vanished, but in truth, he was just moving at a speed that could not be seen by the human eye. Less then a second later, the shinigami re appeared behind the gates, walking slowly through the park. Looking around, he reached out with his spirit energy, trying to sense any sort of presence besides that of the animals. After investigating for a few moments, an aura that didn't belong to an animal came into his senses.
Stopping on the spot, Chase looked around, trying to sense where the strange energy was coming from. It wasn't that of a demon, but it definitely wasn't a shinigami or a normal human either. The distinct energy gave off that of a member of the celestial families the shinigami concluded. Raising an eyebrow, he wondered why a member of the celestial families was out here so late. Making his way towards the direction of the aura, Chase looked around casually, keeping his eyes open for the owner of the aura.
